Helping kids take steps in the right direction

About ING Run For Something Better®

Childhood obesity has become a serious health concern across the nation. ING Run For Something Better, an accredited 501(c)(3) charity managed by the ING Community Fund, is tackling the issue by helping kids become fit through free, school-based running fitness programs. By awarding grants, funded through your donations and fundraising efforts, ING Run For Something Better’s programs introduce kids to the benefits of running, physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices – and makes it fun and rewarding for them, too!

As the corporate sponsor for ING Run For Something Better, ING partners with community organizations to sponsor Final Mile Race Days. These thrilling race-day-culminating events are in association with certain ING-sponsored marathons and ING KiDS ROCK (a partnership between ING Run For Something Better and the KiDS ROCK running series operated by Competitor Group, Inc.).  For the kids, these events feature a "final mile run," medals, t-shirts, celebrity appearances and, of course, orange laces! Culminating running events are the highlight of the youth running program in many children's lives. For some kids, finishing a race is something they never thought they could accomplish!
